behind the design

Cortney mcclure

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER For Cortney McClure, design is more than aesthetics, it is a service. From the joy found in crafting a well-loved home for her own family to assisting local builders, Cortney’s love for design became a clear vocation. By 2018, when she established Cortney McClure Design, her instinctive eye for timeless design was no secret. While a corporate background is not the traditional prerequisite for a design career, she continually draws from her experience in those positions. Her unconventional journey has taught her that every season of life is a preparation for the next. This philosophy translates seamlessly into her work as she assists in curating personal projects designed to be well-loved – at every stage of life. Being trusted with customizing her clients’ homes will forever be a source of gratitude for Cortney.

Jennifer Tate

SENIOR DESIGNER With almost four years of experience in engineering and architectural design, Jennifer Tate brings a unique perspective to CMD. With a combination of her degree from OSU in Interior Design, which will always have her heart, and the skills gathered from an architectural based firm, she is an invaluable addition to the CMD team. Her structural expertise is foundational to every project from field measures to infrastructure oversight. Moreover, Jennifer’s proficiency in digital rendering is an essential part of CMD; her project visuals exemplify an instinctive ability to combine the practical with the creative. Jennifer is continually inspired by classic design and constantly experimenting with trends to find the perfect blend of timely and timeless.

reid Traxson

ASSOCIATE DESIGNER From a young age, home design has held a major role in Reid’s life. Through the inheritance of antiques that were once loved by her mother and grandmother she developed an appreciation for all things borrowed. When it was time to choose a degree at Pittsburg State, her attention to detail and vintage taste made interior design an unexpected but perfect fit. With year 1 behind her Reid has gained a surplus of knowledge in drafting, client communications, and styling with contemporary and vintage collections in mind!

Shaelynn Cook

PROJECT MANAGER A nurse by trade, this wife and mother of two found herself at a crossroads when it came to her work and whether passion should fall short of degree. When Shaelynn chose to leap she found herself diving into social media management amongst a community of successful women owned businesses. She is thankful for her unconventional path and how it led her here to Cortney McClure Design. She hopes to bring her creative yet organized approach to design and learn many new trades along the way.

Elle Denyer

STUDIO & SOURCING MANAGER Bartlesville born and raised Elle’s journey to design began during her time at OSU while receiving her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts. She acted on a dream job opportunity that relocated her to North Carolina, designing and rigging large-scale art installations in windows and storefronts for Anthropologie. She’s always been inspired by patterned textiles and functional artistic homeware so she pursued the interior design industry from an angle of wholesale buying for a retail design start-up in Charlotte, NC. Working with clients on furnishing projects as a senior designer gave her exposure to a wide range of design categories, with a focus on modern home interiors. She accomplished it all while growing as an artist through independent contracting out of her home studio workshop. Her broad array of  experience and artistic capabilities led her to CMD. She’s drawn to European architecture styles and unique antiques but has a keen eye for an abundance of design interpretations. Elle looks forward to serving her CMD clientele with an intentional, personalized approach when furnishing their homes.
